BICKNELL TOUR FOR SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODS SATURDAY AT SHARON FOR "MFG NIGHT" PRESENTED BY MSD WITH $18,000 CURRENTLY IN PRODUCT GIVEAWAYS

(Hartford, OH)…The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modified Series powered by Pace Performance will head to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio this Saturday night (June 23) for “Manufactures Night” presented by MSD Performance featuring the season opener for the Bicknell Touring Series.  Racing begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday will mark the fifth annual “Manufacturers Night” for the Modifieds and fourth straight year to be held at Sharon as currently $18,000 in products will be distributed to competing racers.  There will be at least 38 product packages each valued at a minimum of $300 up to the grand prize of $1,420!  (See complete prize list to date below.)   If there are less cars than the number of prizes, a second round of drawings will be conducted.  Certificates for prizes are non-transferable and prizes must be redeemed by December 31, 2018 unless otherwise noted.

MSD Performance, the “Official Ignition” of RUSH, will present all eight of the Series’ Manufacturers Nights as well as providing product for giveaways.  MSD was purchased by Holley Performance in 2016, which expanded their support and contribution substantially last year throughout all of the divisions under the RUSH banner.  For the first time, Holley's Circle Track Sales Manager, Graham Fordyce, will be making the trip in from company headquarters in Bowling Green, KY.

"MSD's Manufacturers Nights have become the featured attraction of each Series' schedule of events", stated Series Director Vicki Emig.  "In 2018, over $150,000 in product contingencies will be distributed to RUSH racers with the Sportsman Modifieds laying claim to over $18,000 of product this Saturday at Sharon.  I think it speaks volumes as to how the numerous nationally recognized manufacturers feel about the RUSH concept and our efforts to provide an affordable and exciting avenue for racers to participate.  I don't think they realize just how important their contribution of tens of thousands of dollars in product for our racers helps with the overall success of the Series, and we are truly grateful for their unwavering support."  

The grand prize on Saturday night has once again been posted by TBM Brakes, which is two F1 Tornado Calipers and two F3 Tornado Calipers along with three bottles of TBM Brake Fluid.  MSD and its parent company, Holley, are providing over $2,000 in giveaways on Saturday night alone including two Holley 0-4777C Chromate 650 Carburetors along with two MSD 8727CT Digital Soft Touch Rev Limiter & two 8.5 mm Super Conductor Wire Sets.  One of the new contributors is Jim Bloom of Animal Graphics, who has posted a complete Modified wrap as prize valued at $700!
  

Saturday will also feature a complete Bicknell Racing Products Touring Series event with $600 to-win.  Due to rain, Sharon has only been able to complete two Bicknell Weekly Series events this season.  Blaze Myers became the division's youngest winner on June 2 as the 14-year-old won his first career race over a record 31-car field, and then on Tuesday night, Chas Wolbert put on a dominating performance to capture his first overall RUSH win of 2018.  Saturday will be the first of two Bicknell Tour events of 2018 at Sharon.

The Bicknell Tour has made four prior visits to Sharon with Wolbert winning two, while Steve Slater and Justin Shea captured their first career wins.  The average car count has been 26 for those races.  When Myers won the RUSH Weekly Series event on June 2, a record 31 cars were on hand, while 24 competed on Tuesday night.  Garrett Krummert has both the Sharon and Bicknell Weekly Series points lead entering Saturday night.

In addition to the posted "Manufacturers Night" prizes, several event contingencies will be posted.  Ohio Intra Express will award $100 to the fastest qualifier.  RUSH Series Officials will determine the Sherwood Racing Wheels "Man of Steel" award winner as one that bounced back from an earlier mishap to finish the event strongly each night.  The selected driver will receive a certificate for a free Sherwood Racing Wheel.  

Precise Racing Products will award a $100 gift card for the "Pedal Down" Hard Charger that passes the most cars in the Late Model feature.  The TBM Brakes “Tough Brake of the Night” will award three bottles of Xtreme6 Racing Brake Fluid valued at approximately $45 along with a certificate for a discount off any TBM Brakes purchase.  

New this year is the Dirt Defender "Defensive Drive" to the driver that best defended his position throughout the night.  This award chosen by RUSH Officials will award a $40 Dirt Defender product package.  The award could go to a driver holding off another for the final heat race or B main transfer position, a driver denying a hard charging racer a feature win, a move to stay on the lead lap before a caution, or any such deserving move.

You do not have to a member of RUSH to compete or be eligible for the Manufacturers Night giveaways; however, driver must compete and car must be 100% RUSH legal to be eligible for prizes.  The AMB/MyLaps transponders are required.  One-way driver radios are always mandatory.  The entry fee is $25.  Pit passes are $30.  Pits open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7.
