SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODIFIEDS RETURN TO LERNERVILLE FRIDAY PRESENTED BY VP SMALL ENGINE FUELS

(Sarver, PA)…Coming off a record high car count last Saturday at Sharon Speedway, the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will make their second appearance of the season on Friday night (July 4) at Lernerville Speedway in an event presented by VP Small Engines Fuels.  It will be a doubleheader for the RUSH Series as the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series will be competing in night one of the "Bill Emig Memorial Wild Card Weekend" presented by Bilstein Shock Absorbers.

 

Friday's event will mark the eighth of the year as part of the inaugural season.  To date there have been five different winners in seven events as only Adam Hilton has been able to win multiple events.  Hilton actually won three straight capturing the first shows at Lernerville, Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway, and Raceway 7.  Other winners include Jordan Eck, Greg Martin, Jeremy Zufall, and most recently Rocky Kugel.  Kugel's win came over an 11-car field.  Eighteen different drivers have competed in 15 different cars.

 

Hilton of Buffalo, New York has the Sweeney Weekly Series point lead by 16 over Kugel.  At the end of the season, drivers best 10 finishes will be used to determine the $10,000+ point fund with $3,000 going to the Series champion. 

 

The Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will be back at Lernerville on Friday, July 19.  On Saturday, September 6 the inaugural "Manufacturers Night" presented by Bilstein will be held at Lernerville.  The RUSH Sportsman will conclude the season as part of the DIRTcar Round-Up "Steel City Stampede" on October 24-25 at Lernerville.   

 

You do not have to be a member of RUSH to compete.  RACEceivers are required.  The red AMB transponders will be used.  Gates open at 5 p.m. with warm-ups at 7 and heat races at 7:30.  Lernerville is offering all RUSH member races the DIRTcar $10 off pit discount.  Pit passes are $20 for RUSH and DIRTcar members and $30 for all others.
