MSD NAMED “OFFICIAL IGNITION” OF RUSH FOR SWEENEY LATE MODEL& SPORTSMAN MODS; WILL PRESENT MFG NIGHT FOR BOTH SERIES

(Pulaski, PA)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series is proud to welcome MSD as a Major Contingency Sponsor, and the “Official Ignition” for both the Sweeney RUSH Late Models and Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds.  MSD will also be the presenting sponsor of “Manufacturers Night” for both Series and will contribute a substantial amount of product to both events.

“I have been working with MSD Motorsports Representative Philip Chacon for the past two years,” explained RUSH Series Co-Director Vicki Emig.  “The relationship between our two companies began by them graciously posting products for Manufacturers Night in 2013.  Their decision to greatly increase their participation and become the "Official Ignition" of the Sweeney RUSH Racing Series with their nationally recognized and widely respected name adds a tremendous amount of credibility to our Series.”

$2,500 of MSD product will be distributed to RUSH racers throughout the 2015 season in the form of four valuable MSD  packages.  Two of the packages will be distributed at each Series' Manufacturers Nights presented by MSD along with one select Sweeney Tour event for both Series

The $30,000 Sweeney RUSH Late Model Tour “Manufacturers Night” has annually drawn over 40 race cars and has been held at Sharon Speedway, Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway, and McKean County Raceway.  The Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modified Tour “Manufacturers Night” will be held at Sportsman’s Speedway in Knox, Pa. on a Sunday in early August.  Exact dates for the 2015 “Manufacturers Night” events will soon be announced in addition to the MSD Ignition-presented Sweeney Late Model and Sportsman Modified Tour events.

The MSD 87286 is currently mandated for the Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modified division and the new MSD 8727CT will be implemented in conjunction with both RUSH and DIRTcar rules starting in 2015.  MSD has long been the ignition of choice for RUSH and other Crate Late Model and Sportsman Modified racers across the country.
