SWEENEY RUSH SERIES TO CONDUCT MANDATORY SEMINAR FOR AUTHORIZED RUSH LATE MODEL REBUILD & SPORTSMAN MOD REPAIR FACILITIES

By Mike Leone

October 31, 2014                   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...Even though the 2014 season just concluded, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are already hard at work in the planning stages for the 2015 season.  With that said, RUSH has wasted no time in scheduling a mandatory rebuilders seminar for the RUSH Late Model Authorized Rebuild Facilities as well as the RUSH Sportsman Modified Authorized Repair Facilities.  The seminar will take place at Gatherings Banquet & Event Center (Edinburg, Pa.) on Saturday, December 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The meeting has been scheduled at this time in order to precede the rebuild/repair season for many regional racers.

In an effort to educate and provide continued consistency and correctness throughout the region in the GM crate engine rebuild/repair process, the Seminar will allow RUSH Late Model "Rebuild" Facilities and RUSH Sportsman Modified "Repair" Facilities the opportunity to participate in informational exchanges, in depth discussions, and hands on experience concerning all aspects of these important processes.  The meeting will be conducted by both RUSH Competition Director Travis Harry and NeSmith Racing Series Competition Director Tim Sims, who will travel in from Alabama.

“As we continue to grow, I felt it was important to mandate this meeting for those that wish to be authorized with RUSH to rebuild or repair engines," explained Emig.  "It's important to us that everyone authorized with our Series realize how important the rebuild/repair process is to the continued growth of RUSH and crate racing in general.  The integrity of a strong and viable crate racing program is the teching and rebuild/repair process and it is important to us, our racers and sanctioned speedways to have confidence in the knowledge of those rebuilding these engines."

Effective December 7, the day after the seminar, any current authorized RUSH Rebuilder/Repair Facility, who does not attend this meeting, will be removed from our authorized list.

It is expected that RUSH rebuilders from as far north as Canada, south into North Carolina and everywhere in between will be in attendance.  Any newly interested rebuilders are asked to contact the RUSH office to notify them of their attendance and rebuilders that are currently involved with any other crate racing series, be it dirt or asphalt, are welcome to attend providing they pre-register.

Also, RUSH-sanctioned speedway's promoters and tech officials are also invited to attend, although not mandatory.  A specific tech meeting for speedways and their tech officials will be held in the spring of 2015 prior to the start of the new racing season.

"As a sanctioning body, our job is to not only present exciting crate late model racing and valuable championship point funds to our region's fans, speedways, and racers, but also to provide structure, support, and education to our RUSH partners," stated Leone.   "From the beginning, we promised these partners that we would also provide a service and support system to them on a year-round, daily basis and we feel this rebuilder’s seminar is just another example of our commitment to healthy and viable crate racing throughout the Northeast.

The Gatherings Banquet & Event Center is located just west of New Castle, Pa. on Route 422 at 2552 Benjamin Franklin Highway, Edinburg, PA 16116.
